About Us
GrailQuest Corp. is a Premier Exploration and Production Software and Consulting Firm With 40+ Years of Industry Experience
- Provided world-class reservoir description
- Geological, geophysical, and engineering models, original and remaining hydrocarbons in place maps, reserves analysis and classification, depletion plans, economics, risk analysis, A&D due diligence
- Created the first commercially available 3D geocellular modeling software in the industry
- Adopted by nearly every major multinational client worldwide
- Merged with Landmark / Halliburton in 1994
- Developed ReservoirGrail — the first commercially available volumetric balancing reservoir simulation software
- Major 3rd party endorsement of ReservoirGrail (Apache Corp. — multiple licenses)
- 2015: ReservoirGrail has helped add over 1 BILLION DOLLARS of reserves value over the past several years
- Completed research partnership with Rice University to compare technology vs Darcy and implement 3-phase capability
- Results showed an average difference of 2.2% (0.08–5.2%) compared to a PE Darcy simulator
Jeff Swanson (President)
Jeff Swanson founded GrailQuest in January 2000. With over 45 years in the industry, he continues to serve as the president of Swanson Consulting Inc. which is a global leader of geological and engineering geoscience studies for the oil and gas industry. In 1985 he co-founded Stratamodel Inc. to create the first commercial 3D software for geo-cellular modeling for the oil and gas industry. Stratamodel Inc. was acquired by Landmark Graphics/ Halliburton in 1994. Jeff graduated with a BBA from Southern Methodist University.
Parag Gujar
Petroleum Engineer
B.S. Petroleum Engineering (India)
M.S. Petroleum Engineering (Univ. of Oklahoma)
15+ years of Reservoir Engineering experience in Conventional and Unconventional Reservoirs, Reservoir Simulation Modeling, Surveillance and Optimization for Management of Waterfloods, Reserves, Forecasting and Field Development Planning.
Expert in Reservoir Simulation Modeling of mature oil fields and waterfloods using Eclipse, Streamsim, ReservoirGrail and PetrelRe for reservoir management and optimization.
SEC Reserves, forecasting and build economic models for evaluation of short-range budgets and long-range planning of development scenarios.
Reservoir and economic analysis of conventional and un-conventional reservoirs in Bakken, Eagleford, and Permian Basin for prospect evaluation, business development and acquisitions.
Mark McClelland (P.E.)
VP of Improved Recovery/ Reservoir Management
B.S. Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering (Pennsylvania State Univ)
M.S. Engineering Management (Univ. of Louisiana Lafayette)
38 years of experience with Conoco and Apache in Improved Recovery, Reservoir Management, Production and Operations.
Responsibilities included acquisition analysis, planning and management of assets and implementation of procedures and use of technology to increase value.
23 years with Apache in all facets of engineering particularly focused the last several years on the improvement of water and CO2 floods in mature oil fields:
Directed subsurface modeling teams that provided geocellular and reservoir modeling to history match and forecast depletion scenarios.
Used ReservoirGrail as key tool yielding economic results on ~100 projects that identified 176 mmbo additional recovery.
Chris Moragne
Petroleum Engineer
B.S. Petroleum Engineering (Univ. of Oklahoma)
9 years of experience with ReservoirGrail providing economic and sub-surface modeling and reserve forecasts.
Uses ReservoirGrail to simulate primary and secondary production in reservoirs to current day conditions. Models development plans for the most effective exploitation of hydrocarbons under cost-effective conditions.
Manages corporate reserves and forecasts economic evaluations.
Regulatory reporting to maintain compliance with RRC.
